Weaved lighting fixtures, plastered with lime plaster and painted with traditional Velatura technique.

Collaboration between an architect, a weaver artist and an artisan plasterer who gave birth to something new and special.

Since this is work in an old building for preservation, we weren’t allowed to dig in the walls at all, and electric wires were must be external to the wall. The only conventional option that we knew was plastic channels or bare metal tubes, We realized that it was not suitable for the design of the building.

This job I made 8 years ago when I was already experienced in clay plaster but just started to learn about lime plastering and I had an amazing teacher that guided and supported me doing this work.
He was working on the same site on his own project and I kept on coming to him and pick his brain with question until I was satisfied, as he was seeing me super excited to learn the lime plaster craft he started to came to me and giving me the secrets and the tricks of this amazing craft.
